About

I have been passionate about collecting and burning resins since my early twenties when someone first introduced me to the practice of burning tree resin using a charcoal tablet (it was a piece of Copal resin – and the most enticingly incredible scent I had ever smelt!)… Born in the UK, I had been dabbling with resins and exotic woods, and making small quantities of incense blends for 13 years or so when I moved to Australia in 2008. In 2011 I set up home in the Dandenong Ranges. Out there, amongst the towering mountain ashes and rainforest ferns, I began to be drawn again to the mystery and magic of resins and woods. I began collecting ingredients and made up some incense recipes, and thought it might be fun to offer them at a market. A stall at the Upwey Grassroots market proved that there were, indeed, many people keen to try my incense! Fast forward to the present day and Resonant Aromatics is now a well-known brand in Australia; stocked in boutique stores, natural therapy clinics and artisan shops across the country; creating a continually expanding community of natural incense lovers, excited to work with these natural resins and woods to help awaken and deepen our connection to nature and our inner essence.

I pride myself on the high quality of my raw ingredients; sourcing the finest resins, aromatic woods, herbs and flowers. Ingredients are wild-harvested and organic where possible. Some, like the stringy bark sap and gum leaves, are hand-collected from private sections of forest and wild lands, herbs are grown locally and other ingredients are sourced direct from their countries of origin: white Copal resin from Mexico, premium Frankincense resin from the Sanaag region of Somalia (the Pharaohs’ favourite place to obtain it from) and from the Oman, silver Benzoin gum from Indonesia. It’s a continual learning process, evolving and exploring. In every corner of the world, there are prized resins and plant materials known for their potency when transformed into smoke.

Thank you for visiting my store.. I hope you enjoy this incense as much as I do!
